The faction names are chosen from Australian history and acknowledge individuals who exhibited courage, persistence and respect.
Our school hats are reversible with the faction colours on the inside. Our faction shirts are able to be worn on Fridays or at our sporting events. Both are available for purchase from school reception.
Forrest (green)
Sir John Forrest (22 August 1847 – 2 September 1918) was an Australian explorer who lead three expeditions into inland Western Australia. He was the first Premier of Western Australia and a cabinet minister in Australia’s first federal parliament.
Cowan (purple)
Edith Dircksey Cowan (nee Brown), (2 August 1861 – 9 June 1932) was an Australian Politician, social campaigner and the first woman elected to an Australian parliament.
O’Connor (blue)
Charles Yelverton O’Connor (11 January 1843 – 10 March 1902) was an Irish engineer who is best known for his work in Western Australia, for the construction of Fremantle Harbour and the Goldfields Water Supply Scheme project, which supplied water to the Eastern Goldfields.
Windich (red)
Tommy Windich (1840 – 20th February 1876) was an Indigenous Australian member of a number of exploring expeditions in Western Australia in the 1860’s and 1870’s.
John Forrest said at the time of his death, “His name is almost a household work in the colony…. I feel that i have lost an old and well-tried companion and friend.”
